COMMENDEE 2025-26: Imran gets a Commendation for his role, as the centre’s electrician, in keeping Heathrow IRC operating over the last 20 years; for the pride he takes in his work; for his technical knowledge, proactive approach, and calmness under pressure; and for coming in, day or night, whenever needed.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Maria has worked at HMP Leeds, in a range of administrative positions, for over 40 years, and is Commended as a role model for her positivity and all-round excellence in everything she does, and for the encouragement and support she gives her colleagues, both personally and professionally.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Jo receives a Commendation for her work as Learning and Skills Manager at HMP Haverigg, collaborating across departments, and with external partners, to transform training, and open up new job opportunities, for men who often struggle to find employment because of their offences.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Teresa’s Commendation recognises her impact as an Art Teacher on HMP Frankland’s Personality Disorder treatment unit, helping – through her sensitive and empathetic approach – to inspire and empower the men, break down barriers, and assist them in their therapeutic journey.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Jenny is granted a Commendation for building her department into a hub of innovation, opportunity, and hope for the men at HMP Buckley Hall, as the jail’s Industries Manager, including turning a decommissioned bus into a sensory-informed space for prisoners with neurodiversity.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Lynsey, a Manager at HMP Peterborough, is Commended for the effect she has had on safety and rehabilitation in the jail, through the strategies she has introduced, her one-to-one work with prisoners, the support and training she gives colleagues, and the external partnerships she has developed.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Andy’s Commendation is for embedding a culture of care, consideration and respect towards prisoners and staff throughout the jail, as Deputy Governor at HMP Aylesbury, through his inclusive leadership, humanity, and humour, and as a role model to all for the values he so clearly embodies.
