COMMENDEE 2025-26: Leanne receives a Commendation for the resilience, compassion, and dedication she shows, as a Pregnancy, Mother and Baby Liaison Officer at HMP/YOI Bronzefield, in supporting the women in her care, and helping ensure the best possible outcomes for their babies.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Tom, a Supervising Officer at HMP/YOI Moorland, gets a Commendation for promoting wellbeing across the jail, and in particular for setting up a veterans’ group for prisoners and staff, and a peer-support group for prisoners living with cancer, including those facing a terminal diagnosis.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: A Unit Manager at HMP Maghaberry, Paul is granted a Commendation for his support for veterans in custody – a group especially marginalised in the Northern Ireland context – including establishing a veterans’ hub in the prison, in partnership with the armed forces charity SSAFA.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Originally nominated by a prisoner for the mental health peer-support group he set up, Custodial Manager Brendon gets a Commendation for his contribution, through his leadership and dedication, to the safety and wellbeing of both prisoners and staff right across HMP Dovegate.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Paula is Commended for her contribution to the wellbeing of residents at Woodlands JJC – going well beyond her role as an Administrative Officer, in a voluntary capacity, to qualify as a Personal Trainer, and deliver a popular, and highly effective, health and fitness programme for the children.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Catering Officer Colin is Commended for the rehabilitative support he gives to the women he employs in the canteen at Hydebank Wood College – building their confidence and self-esteem, helping them gain industry-recognised qualifications, and assisting many to find work in the sector on release.

COMMENDEE 2025-26: Senior Officer Chelsea’s Commendation is for the profound impact she has had on health and wellbeing across HMP Peterborough, including through her leadership of Trauma Risk Management in the jail, her care and support of colleagues, and her fitness programmes for prisoners and staff.
