COMMENDEE 2014-15: Andy is granted a Commendation for his “exceptional leadership and resilience” as Deputy Governor at HMP Thorn Cross, and for the energy and enthusiasm he has retained over more than three decades in the Service.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Thomas was nominated by a prisoner and receives a Commendation for all-round excellence as an Officer at HMP Lancaster Farms; he is described as the “go-to contact point” for both prisoners and staff across the establishment.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Mark earns a Commendation for his work as a Catering Manager at HMP Bristol, establishing a healthy eating ethos, and helping to improve the health and well-being of staff and prisoners throughout the establishment.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Stuart receives a Commendation for developing a media and communications qualification for prisoners at HMP Lowdham Grange, along with a TV channel, Inside TV, which broadcasts to every cell, throughout the day.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: An Instructional Officer, Ali is granted a Commendation for her enthusiasm and commitment in establishing the Gardens Department at HMP Huntercombe, and for her contribution to all aspects of prisoner development.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Victoria receives a Commendation for the dedication and skill she displayed in transforming the healthcare service at HMP Grendon and Spring Hill into a widely recognised centre of excellence.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Paul, an Officer at HMP Liverpool, earns a Commendation for his work in addressing gang violence: researching and developing a range of tools and partnerships to combat the problem both inside and outside the prison.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Bob was nominated for the diverse range of faith-related provision he has established at HMP Addiewell and is Commended for, amongst other things, his “almost incomparable” level of commitment and capacity for work.

COMMENDEE 2014-15: Jody, a Supervisory Officer at HMP New Hall, is Commended for her work, much of it in her own time, in developing and providing support for female sex workers. [This Commendation is supported by the Wates Foundation.]
