Nominations Process
A nomination should be drawn up by either the Local Champion, or a member of the establishment’s SMT – using our online nominations form.
However, anyone can recommend someone to be nominated – they just need to let you have their name and why they think they should be nominated. Staff should do so by email (direct to you, or via the Governor’s office); prisoners/detainees can just use paper (we’ve given the Library some forms to use if they wish, though they don’t need to).
If a colleague or prisoner/detainee does put someone’s name forward, please do follow up on it – even if you don’t think they’re likely to win – because “just” being nominated means a lot to people and shows how much they’re appreciated.
Once you’ve drafted a nomination, it will be emailed (through the online form) to the Governor/Director, for them to sign off.
The official closing date for nominations to be completed and signed off is 30 June – though we may be able to grant a short extension (opens in a new tab).
