Celebrating and promoting the best in UK prisons, probation and youth justice

#HiddenHeroes

Following the success of last year’s first UK-wide “Thank you #HiddenHeroes Day”, this year’s special day will take place (as last year) on 29 September.

#HiddenHeroes Day 2 is a chance to pay tribute to everyone working in prisons, probation and youth justice settings, for their truly outstanding service throughout the pandemic. It’s also an opportunity to show them that, while they may be largely hidden from public view, they’re not forgotten, and that the people who know them best truly appreciate all they’ve done.

Last year, prisons, probation services and youth justice settings across the UK took part – and our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, joined the festivities at HMP Bullingdon. We hope you will join us in helping to make #HiddenHeroes Day 2 even bigger and better than last year! Find out more at: www.HiddenHeroes.uk/HiddenHeroesDay.

And in the lead up to the day, we are also organising the #HiddenHeroes #CharityChallenge, to increase awareness about mental health, and raise money for the charity Mental Health UK.

The campaign is going really well, but there’s still time to raise more, including on #HiddenHeroes Day itself – and our Director, Simon Shepherd, is doing his bit by covering 28 5ks in the first 28 days of September (provided his knees hold up). For more details about the Challenge see: www.HiddenHeroes.uk/CharityChallenge; and you can find Simon’s fundraising page at: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SimonShepherd10.
